DEADLINE FOR CSEC AND CAPE RESULTS OCTOBER 7

Deputy Chief Education Officer and Local Registrar for the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), Dr. Roderick Rudder, is advising persons who have queries with examination results that they have until October 7, to do so.

This was emphasized during a press conference called by the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training where Dr. Rudder provided an update and analysis of the recently returned CXC CSEC and CAPE results.

Pointing out that the results are preliminary, he said the Caribbean Examinations Council was continuing the process of engaging with Ministries of Education and schools to address some minor discrepancies that may have resulted at the time of the release of the results.

He noted some of the discrepancies may be instances where some candidates may have some ungraded results or might have been recorded as absent due to illness, and that the Ministry of Education is working with CXC to address those discrepancies.

Dr Rudder, in advising candidates who have any issues with their results and wish to have them reviewed, said: “The opportunity is being provided by the Caribbean Examinations Council to submit queries, that would be in the case of absence or ungraded to the Caribbean Examinations Council and those queries should be submitted between now and by October 7, to give the council an opportunity to undertake the necessary review.”

For those candidates who have a challenge with their particular grades and would wish to have them reviewed, they should request a review of the grades. That request should be submitted to the Caribbean Examinations Council, and the cost of a review is Barbados $60 per subject.  The request for a review should be submitted between now and October 7, 2022.

Speaking about the overall results received for local candidates, Dr. Rudder noted that there has been a “satisfactory performance” of candidates at both the CSEC and CAPE levels.  (PR/GIS)
