The Bahamas Intends to Remove King as Head of State
The prime minister of the Bahamas, Phillip Davis, has announced that he too intends to hold a referendum to remove Queen Elizabeth’s son and successor, King Charles III, as the official head of state in the Bahamas.

He says he wants to turn his country, which has been independent since 1973, into a republic.
This follows a similar statement recently from the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne.
