BAJAN GEMS QUALIFY FOR NETBALL WORLD CUP 2023, CAPE TOWN, SA

Barbados Gems played their last two matches against the Sunshine Girls and Antigua and Barbuda on Friday October 21st and Saturday October 22nd.

The Sunshine Girls, Jamaica, on Friday night dominated the Gems, with an outstanding performance by the world’s best shooter Jhaniele Fowler. Jamaica won to take the match 75-37. It was a significant improvement for the Gems since the last performance at the Americas Qualifier where the game ended 103-24.

The Gems had an impressive first quarter score of 14-19 before being over powered by scores of 24-43 and 32-62.

Last night, Saturday October 22nd, the Gems played their final qualifying match against Antigua and Barbuda. The 68-29 victory over Antigua and Barbuda secured the Bajan Gems their qualification to the Netball World Cup in South Africa next year.
