BARBADOS ROYALS BOOK A SPOT IN CPL FINAL

Led by an impressive 91  runs by their opening batsman Rahkeem Cornwall The Barbados Royals booked their spot in the  2022 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final scheduled for Friday. 

The Barbados Royals crushed the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 87 runs at Providence Stadium, Guyana as they were sent in to bat first and posted 195/5, tying the highest score in CPL this season. 

Cornwall struck 11 sixes and two fours off just 54 balls on his to the topscore of the game, 91 runs. 

Cornwall shared in a 56-run opening partnership with Kyle Mayers who was dismissed just after the power play for 26 runs off 20 balls.

Azam Khan who scored 52 runs off 35 balls and struck four sixes and three fours cam ein at number four and he and Cornwall put on a 90-run partnership which came off 51 balls. 

Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and chose to field, but Barbados Royals would go on to score the joint-highest total of this season by reaching an imposing 195/5. Opener Rahkeem Cornwall starred in the innings, launching 11 sixes in his innings of 91, while Azam Khan supported with his own half-century.    
In reply the Warriors could only muster 108 runs  as they were bowled out in the 18th over.

Ramon Simmonds was the spearhead of the bowling attack for the Barbados Royals as he took three wickets for 17 runs, while Cornwall and Mujeeb Ur Rahman each took two wickets. Kyle Mayers bowled one over for two runs, while Jason Holder, and Hayden Walsh Jr took one wicket each.
