The Calabar Festival 2024, tagged “Shared Prosperity,”was nothing short of breathtaking, as carnival bands vied for the coveted first position with captivating displays of dance, drama, and colorful floats that perfectly embodied this year’s theme.
The streets of Calabar were alive with excitement, as spectators from all walks of life gathered en masse to witness what has been crowned the biggest African street party. Each band brought their A-game, turning the festival into a vibrant showcase of talent and creativity.
Emerging victorious for the second consecutive year was the Calas Vegas Carnival Band, securing their title with a stunning performance that left the crowd in awe. Their back-to-back win solidifies their reputation as a powerhouse in the carnival scene.
Cross River State Governor, in his remarks, promised an even bigger, better, and more improved carnival next year, cementing the Calabar Festival’s legacy as a cultural spectacle that continues to draw global attention.
Indeed, the 2024 Calabar Festival was a beauty to behold, a celebration of unity, culture, and the rich heritage of Africa.
