CIBC Caribbean Customers Win Big After Christmas
A Spa Therapist and a Maintenance Manager recently walked away with $10,000 each as the November and December prize winners in the CIBC Caribbean Sweeten the Season Christmas Competition. They joined Mr. Trevor Wharton, who was the prize winner for October. He also collected $10,000 as his prize winnings.
They were the lucky winners, in Barbados, as CIBC Caribbean ended its annual Christmas competition which was set up to reward loyal clients across the region, in the Personal and Business Banking Christmas promotion. A post-holiday celebration was held when the November and December winners visited the bank to confirm which prize they had won.
In a mini-game-show styled presentation, the two had the opportunity to choose from three identical looking cards on stands. The winner would only know the true value of their winnings, when the chosen card was turned over and the amount revealed. The three cards had hidden values of $10,000, $7,000 and $5,000. After the first reveal, the cards were shuffled and returned to the stands for the next winner to uncover.
Shellana Atherley, a Spa Therapist at a popular hotel, was the November winner, having been automatically entered in the promotion, after securing a loan to purchase her Toyota Aqua vehicle. When Jerome Gittens, the Business Development Officer at the Warrens branch, who dealt with Shellana’s loan called to invite her to the bank for the presentation, she expressed surprise as she didn’t even remember that she was entered in a competition. Jerome seemed to have had the magic touch this season as he was also the officer who sold the loan to October winner, Trevor Wharton.
Steven John, the December winner, obtained a loan to purchase a Nissan Kicks vehicle which his wife drives most of the time, while he takes the wheel on weekends, sticking to his truck with his tools during the week when he is working. Shalamar Ward, the Sales Specialist who managed his loan transaction at the Wildey branch, was overjoyed when he too turned over the card and revealed that he had won the $10,000 prize. John described his experience with her as a pleasant one ‘from moment one’ because she communicated well, explaining the procedure and all the documents which he was required to bring to expedite the process.
The competition, which ran from September 29 to January 9, allowed customers who applied for vehicle loans, mortgages, land loans and renewable energy loans to benefit from special offers and be eligible to win the three grand prizes.
The promotion took place regionwide in territories where CIBC Caribbean operates with three winners announced in each territory. (PR)
