A FLASH-FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHERN AND EASTERN DISTRICTS
The Meteorological Office has issued a flood watch for the island and has upgraded that notice to a flash-flood warning for the northern and eastern districts. It is effective from 10 am today September 29th and will be TERMINATED at 6 pm or sooner if conditions warrant.
A flash-flood warning in this case is issued when rapid flooding due to excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) is imminent in the warning area.
