Fore Day Morning Jam

Fore Day Morning Jam( FDMJ) is a nocturnal street event not to be missed. By 2am on Saturday, July 30th the loud and sweet songs pumping from music trucks had awakened thousands of revellers who were ready to celebrate the first Fore Day Morning Jam in two years. The pandemic had put to rest this much-loved event but as powder and paint covered the bodies of the revellers there is only one thing on their minds – to have a good time.

The streets of Bridgetown and the Mighty Grynner Highways are the turf of Fore Day Morning Jam. Leading up to this year’s FDMJ suggestions to move out of the city were rejected.

Bandleaders did an excellent job of marshalling their revellers en route to the finishing point at Brighton. Along the way ensuring drinks kept spirits high and to cap it off breakfast was provided. For the bright-eyed morning revellers, it was all about keeping time with the pounding songs being played by some of the island’s top dee-jays.  Like Mikey said, ‘we are all one big feting family’ and by the looks of the friendly interactions of strangers with each other, Mikey is right. Fore Day Morning Jam painted and powdered everyone as there was no who is who but instead, it was one love, one big party.

By the time the sun’s rays reached the Mighty Grynner Highway a  good time was had by thousands of revellers most of who revitalized themselves in the clear waters of Brandon’s beach.
