GAME ABANDONED DUE TO RAIN

The group B  match between Scotland and England in the men’s T20 World Cup at Kensington Oval was called off due to rain on Tuesday at 2:49 pm. The game, which was the first ever contest between the two Home nations in this competition was scheduled to start at 10:30 am but started an hour late after a sharp shower of rain fell at 10.20.

Scotland won the toss when play started openers Michael Jones and George Munsey gave the Scots a solid start before rain stopped play at noon after 6.2 overs with the score on 49, Jones on 30, and Munsey 18.

When play restarted the match was reduced to 10 overs per side, at the end of the tenth over Scotland had scored  90 runs without losing a wicket, Jones was 45 and Munsey 41,  however, the heavens opened when Scotland’s innings ended and the game was abandoned.
