MELANIE WINS A TASTE OF HOME COMPETITION

As the sun set on the penthouse deck at Limegrove six bartenders from across the USA, Patty Dennison, Graham Essex, Melanie Getman, Marco Pastanella, Jesse Rodriguez and Chris O’Neal, were presented to the specially invited guest as the finalists who were chosen to compete for the title of Mount gay Rum  2023 A taste of Home Winner.   

The anticipation was palpable as guests waited expectantly for the  international bartenders to prepare in their presence the signature cocktails.

As the night proceeded there was a common theme, sustainable living, recycling and reusing.  Each bartender focused  on and used local grown fruits, leaves, flowers and spices from their hometowns to include in the cocktails along with Mount Gay Eclipse, Mount Gay XO and or Mount Gay Black Barrel.

As each finalist prepared two signature cocktails before  judges Naren Young – Creative Director Sweet Liberty & Principal Medium Cool, Miami FL (Two Miami Bars), Sean Brown – Trade Marketing Director, Remy Cointreau USA, Maggie Campbell – Estate Manager, Mount Gay Rum

There was an impressive showing from all the finalists however at the end of the night  Melanie  Getman was awarded winner,  2023 Mount Gay Rum Taste of Home Competition.
