New Technical Director of Coaching for Netball 

President of the Barbados Netball Association (BNA) President Dr Carmeta Douglin during her announced that the BNA has a new Technical Coaching Director and she is former UK National coach Pamela Hesson. 

Hesson whose father was a Bajan was chosen after submission were taken in January for the position. 

The BNA Opened their season on Sunday with an exhibition game and a Division One game at the Wildey Gymnasium following the opening ceremony.

Dr Douglin made it clear that she was looking to move the sport of Netball forward as they seek to boost their World Ranking which has slipped to 14th

Taking over the reigns in 2022, Dr Douglin also announced a new selection committee and coaching structure as the new committee has hit the ground running. 

She also called for an accessible indoor facility saying that the Gymnasium has failed my athletes and Sporting Organisations because of its unavailability. 

The former Barbados Netball Umpire Association president, Dr Douglin also made a called for the refurbishment of the Netball Stadium. 

In the feature address, Prime Minister Hon Mia Mottley said that they have plans to refurbish the Netball Stadium, which will include a cover and wooden floors. The Prime Minister noted that when this is done it will cater to Netball, Volleyball and Basketball.

The Prime Minister also noted that the National Stadium is slated to be done thanks to the partnership with the People’s Republic of China.
