Pop-Up Co-Op Mart On Saturday, December 7

The Co-operatives Department, of the Ministry of Energy and Business, will host a Pop-up Co-op Mart on Saturday, December 7, at the Church Village Green, Central Bank, Bridgetown, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

A number of co-operatives, including Women Entrepreneurs, Ujamaa and Pig Farmers Co-operatives, will capture the imagination of patrons with their innovative products, goods, and services.  

Custom made bags, agricultural produce, plants, a wide assortment of clothing, art and craft items, various types of jewellery, locally made confectionery, assorted women’s accessories, and customised items for the holiday season are some of the items which will be available to patrons.

For the first time, members of the beekeeping community will be on hand to educate the public on beekeeping and will have some of their products on display.

Complimentary blood pressure testing and screening will be provided by the Diabetes and Hypertension Association of Barbados. 

Pork samples, compliments of the Pig Farmers Co-operative and prepared by Dr. Phil’s Kitchen, will be offered to the public. Co-op dee-jay Sweet Tunes Entertainment will set the atmosphere, and steel pan virtuoso Elan Marie Jordan of ELANJAY will perform at the event.
