Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgetown Supports Marina Brewster Centre with Donation
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgetown has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable children with a generous donation to the Marina Brewster Centre at Farrs. The contribution will assist with the centre’s operational costs and was made possible through proceeds from the Diocese’s 2025 Run Walk to Help event.
This marks the third consecutive year that the Diocese has extended financial assistance to the children’s home, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to social outreach and community development. The Diocese also expressed its intention to continue supporting the Marina Brewster Centre in the years ahead.
During the presentation, Bishop Neil Scantlebury of the Diocese of Bridgetown handed over the contribution to Sherriann Weir, Social Worker with the Social Empowerment Agency. Rosie Parris, Treasurer of the Diocese, was also present for the occasion.
Bishop Scantlebury commended the efforts of those working tirelessly to improve the lives of children in care. “Our church community continues to walk in faith and service, and we are proud to support the vital work being done at the Marina Brewster Centre,” he said.
The Run Walk to Help initiative remains one of the Diocese’s key annual events, uniting parishioners, schools, and community members to raise funds for charitable causes across Barbados. (PR)
