RUBIS inspiring culinary vision with $5,000 Scholarship at Food and Rum Festival

RUBIS continued its partnership with the recently concluded Barbados Food and Rum Festival, committing another $5,000 scholarship grant to inspire the culinary dreams of a deserving hospitality student.

This initiative aligns with the 2024 festival theme, “Feed the Future,” which emphasises fostering the growth of future leaders in the culinary arts.

Amina Green, RUBIS Accounts Executive, expressed the company’s excitement about this year’s contribution:

“Our sponsorship reflects RUBIS’ commitment to youth development, the culinary arts, and the hospitality industry.  We are proud to, once again, support the Food and Rum Festival through a $5,000 scholarship to a deserving hospitality student, helping them advance their studies and pursue a career in the field. Being part of the festival, which displays the best of Barbados and makes way for the future, is always rewarding. However, our greatest pride comes from knowing that RUBIS is ‘Feeding the Future’ – not only by fueling the culinary industry with Rubigas LPG in homes and businesses but also by investing in the education of our youth, who are the future.”

This is the third consecutive year that Rubigas has been the official LPG sponsor of the Food and Rum Festival. The company’s $5,000 scholarship award aims to provide invaluable support to talented hospitality students, helping them advance their studies and pursue careers in the industry.

Belle Holder, Manager, Public Relations and Communications, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., thanked RUBIS for its continuing partnership.

Holder stated: “The BTMI is thrilled to welcome RUBIS back as a sponsor of the 2024 Barbados Food and Rum Festival. Their commitment to supporting Barbados’ culinary development, the Chefs, and the Mixologists who are the true stars of the Festival, also inspires the next generation of culinary talent. Thanks RUBIS!”
