Seven medals for Alleyne School on BSSAC Day 2

Combermere School (CS) managed to add three more medals to their tally as the Alleyne School surged to the front on another heated day at Harrison College. 

With the new format of the 2023 Powerade-Dasani Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic Championships seeing only field events taking place for the initial three days, the Alleyne School brought the ‘A Game’ on Tuesday with an impressive 7 medals, three of which were gold. 

A one-two finish for Alleyne School in the Under 20 Boys javelin saw Romani Tudor (45.16m) and Rachad Gill (42.74m), while Johl Emtage-Cave Harrison College’s (HS)  with 41.88m. 

Chloe Blackman and Tazaria Joseph picked up another one-two for the Alleyne School this time it was in the Junior Girls Discus as Blackman won with 28.42m and Joseph was second with 24.30m. Shantay Ramsey (CS) was third with 23.92m. 

The Third Gold medal for the Alleyne School came from Shadon Prescod-Henry in the Junior Boys Discus with an impressive throw of 40.0m. Second was Jayden Walcott (CS), who broke a record on day one, and picked up the silver this time with 33.43m. Third was LeAndre Headley-Clarke from St. Michael School with 31.98m 

Other athletes who carried away Gold medals on Day two were Tashawna Phillips from the St. George Secondary School in the under-17 Girls Shot put with 10.88m. Janeta Harris from Lester Vaughan was second 10.47m, and Kianna Connell (PM) third with 10.27m

Serenity Millar (HC) in the Girls Under-17 long jump with 5.31m, second was Kijana Johnson (SMS) with 5.27m and third was Ebony Jones from Springer Memorial with 4.87m.

Asabi Callendar from Christ Church Foundation School in the Javelin Girls Under-20 with 41.75m, second was Ryah Dates (CS) 38.40m, and third was Kaitlyn Smith- Oneale (AS) 33.74m.

Jaden Bowen from Coleridge and Parry won the Boys Under-17 shot put with 12.40m, while second was Zavier Knight (SMS) with 11.45m and third was Adgio Campbell from Princess Margaret (PM) 11.38m.
