Silver streak for Shane Brathwaite
Shane Brathwaite was able to avenge his disappointed World Championship with a silver medal performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Brathwaite who has made it to three World Championships final in the 110m hurdles was disappointed after his was bumped in the final and it caused him to leave the track and be disqualified.
Ironically he drew the same lane 1 as he did at the World Championships but this time there was no such bump. Early in the race Brathwaite was challenging for the gold medal with the Jamaican Rasheed Broadbell until he struck the fourth hurdle which caused him to lose some momentum.
Brathwaite was still going well and though he also hit the final hurdle he went to win the silver in a season best time for him of 13.30 secs.
