Students Bring History to Life at Sam Lord’s Castle Resort

The Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lord’s Castle Resort now boasts a striking collection of murals created by secondary school students, transforming five floors of the property into a vibrant gallery.

At the unveiling, Resort Manager Wyndel Faustin thanked the students and teachers who gave up their summer vacation to complete the project, describing the artwork as “unbelievable” and beyond expectations.

Faustin explained that each mural interprets the legend of Sam Lord in a unique style—from realism and impressionism to abstract and contemporary—and has already drawn admiration from local and international guests.

He noted the initiative sparked friendly competition among the schools and resort staff, adding that the project is the first of its kind on the island and will provide lasting international exposure.

“These murals ensure that long after we’re gone, the story of Sam Lord will continue to inspire visitors,” Faustin said, calling the students and their teachers true trendsetters in Barbadian art and history.
