The two Senators will serve in the Senate for the remainder of the Constitutional period.
Two Independent Senators selected by President His Excellency Lt. Col. The Most Hon. Jeffrey Bostic, were sworn in at State House this morning.
They are Senior Lecturer at the UWI Cave Hill Campus and public health policy activist, Senator Dr. Kenneth Connell, and returning Senator, attorney-at-law, Monique Taitt.
The two Senators took the Oath of Allegiance in the presence of the Clerk of Parliament, Pedro Eastmond and Cabinet Secretary, Selma Green.
In his remarks, Lt. Col. Bostic expressed his delight at having sworn in the two Senators, and said the ceremony was a “special moment” for him as it was his first opportunity to do such since assuming office.
“I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing good things from you in the Senate of Barbados,” he told his appointees.
