Barbadians now have until January 31, 2024, to register for, and collect their new Trident ID cards.
In addition, persons who opted not to pin their cards on collection can have them pinned at each of the four bus terminals and 14 post offices.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley outlined that arrangements had been put in place to enable citizens to pin their cards between now and the end of December, with the process ongoing, if necessary.
Speaking during a press conference at Parliament on Tuesday to address concerns about pinning the Trident ID cards, Ms. Mottley said pinning the cards would be available at bus terminals from Monday to Saturday, and at all 14 post offices across the island.
The Prime Minister added that Government was already in the process of visiting senior citizens’ homes and taking pictures for their Trident ID card, and a similar process could be used to have them pinned.
She also acknowledged that there was a need for better communication between the Electoral and Boundaries Commission (EBC), the Transport Board, and the Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP) going forward.
