WILLIAM LAYNE APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF NEW HOPE INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

HOME OWNERSHIP Providing Energy Inc., (HOPE) has appointed William Layne as the Chairman of its new Board of Directors.

Layne, who replaces former Chairman Tony Hoyos, has been a Financial Consultant for the past 12 years. He has over 40 years of experience in the public sector having served in various positions including Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Supervisor of Insurance, Director of Social Security and Economist and Price Control Officer in the Ministry of Trade.

The new Chairman stated that his first order of business will be to ensure that HOPE is delivering on its housing programme mission in the most cost effective manner, starting with a review of the company’s current business plan.

Anthony Audain, Q.C., who heads Aâstra Law’s Commercial, Corporate Law & Value Added Tax (VAT) Practice, will serve as Deputy Chairman. Audain has a background in economics; government and business consulting and is currently a director of New Life Investment Company Inc., and Resolution Life Assurance Company Ltd.

Other Board members include Joseph Steinbok, Rawdon Adams and Quinnel Reece, who will be joined by one representative each from the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Maintenance, the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Investment and the Central Bank of Barbados. 

HOPE Inc., is a state-owned commercial entity established in 2020 under the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Maintenance to provide affordable hurricane resilient housing solutions for Barbadians. (PR)
