ZANE ZOOMS TO FINISH SECOND IN F4

At the age of 15 years Zane Maloney became the first Bajan to win the British Formula 4 championship and went on to win the Barbados Sports Personality of the Year.

Three years later and now 18 years old, Zane has finished second in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 championship with a jaw dropping final run to the season.

Three victories in the last three feature races of the season saw Zane finish on 134 points, just a mere five points off the eventual driver champion Victor Martins.

The impressive finish to Zane’s season saw him move up the standings from fifth to second after the final event as he collected 79 points over the three races.

Zane had a rough start to the nine rounds of the championship as he only managed to amass 2 points from four feature races at the start of the season.

He is the first Bajan to compete in the Formula 3 having moved up from European Karting and Formula 4.

The Championship started in March in Sakhir Bahrain and finished in September at Monza Italy.
