PITCH COVERS DONATED TO EMPIRE CLUB
The Empire Club recently acquired pitch covers from the management of the Barbados Invitational Masters Football Classic (BIMFC). The covers are vital in the protection of the pitch from rain damage during cricket matches.
BIMFC’s Chairman Melvin ‘Ibo’ Oxley, and Vice Chairman Trevor Thorne presented the covers to Groundman Robert Tweedy-Bird Clarke, Elite Captain Shian Brathwaite, and Coach Jason Haynes.
Captain Brathwaite was happy that the new covers are available. The loss of time due to wet pitches often robs the team of victory. Tweety-Bird Clarke says the long overdue covers will go a long way in helping him prepare better pitches.
