Flow donates IWD care packages to Jabez House

Flow Barbados has reinforced its commitment to empowering women with the donation of packages filled with personal care items to Jabez House, as part of activities in support of International Women’s Day (IWD).

The initiative, Project EmpowerHER, was driven by staff contributions and formed a key part of Flow’s month-long observance of IWD under the global theme, Give to Gain. Employees across the organisation came together to donate items designed to help women feel confident, cared for, and uplifted.

The donation included a range of toiletries and pampering products such as body sprays, perfumes, body washes, lotions, beauty items, and other self-care essentials.

Marilyn Sealy, Senior Director and Head of Liberty Caribbean, praised the initiative and the generosity of the teams involved.

Project EmpowerHER was successfully executed by markets across Liberty Caribbean. We touched the lives of many vulnerable women through these donations. This collective effort truly reflects the spirit of Give to Gain. When we give, whether it is time, resources, or support, we create opportunities for others to rise,” said Sealy.

Liberty Caribbean are the operators of Flow, BTC and Liberty Business.

“Here in Barbados, I am incredibly proud of our team for coming together to make a tangible difference in the lives of these women. It is a reminder that even small, thoughtful acts can have a powerful impact.”

Shamelle Rice, Founder and Director of Jabez House, expressed appreciation for the donation and the continued partnership.

“These contributions go beyond products, as it sends a message to the women we serve that they are seen, valued, and deserving of care,” she said.

“Support like this helps to restore confidence and dignity, which are critical as many of our clients work toward rebuilding their lives and pursuing new opportunities.”

Jabez House is the only organisation of its kind in Barbados, providing vital resources and career-transition opportunities for female sex workers seeking alternative livelihoods.

The donation capped a month of activities that highlighted Flow’s commitment to empowering women both internally and externally.

Internally at Flow, eight female leaders hosted a Speed Mentoring Session focused on open conversation and career guidance, while several female team members were featured in the media sharing their stories to inspire others. Staff were also treated to tokens of appreciation throughout the month.

Beyond its walls, Flow strengthened its community support by sponsoring the EGI Women Together: Next Level Bloom event, reinforcing its dedication to advancing women through connection, opportunity, and growth. (PR)
