Invest Barbados Committed To Building Bilateral Relations With Japan
The 2025 Invest Barbados Sweepstake winners Ayuri Suzuki and Fusako Fukui, of Nagoya, Japan, have arrived in Barbados.
Local Government officials and representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Barbados welcomed the winners today during a brief meeting at Invest Barbados’ office, Trident Insurance Financial Centre.
Last October, Team Barbados, led by then Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment, Kaye McConney, journeyed to Yumeshima Island in Osaka Bay, Japan, for Japan Expo 2025, themed: Designing Future Society for Our Lives. As a part of the island’s promotion, a sweepstake draw for an all-inclusive seven-night trip for two to Barbados was offered, sponsored in collaboration with the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.
Ms. Ayuri Suzuki and Ms. Fusako Fukui made the two-hour trip to the expo by train from Nagoya, a major city in Aichi Prefecture, located in central Japan between Tokyo and Osaka, and beat out over 300 other entries to claim the prize.
