A new national initiative aimed at expanding financial inclusion, strengthening entrepreneurship, and building more resilient communities across Barbados will be launched on Friday, July 17.
WeBiz Bajan, an initiative of the Ministry of Energy, Business Development and Commerce, is designed to bring business opportunities, financial services, and entrepreneurial support directly into communities, through business and trade fairs, community expos, and targeted outreach programmes.
The initiative seeks to make credit information, debt management support, and responsible borrowing resources more accessible to individuals, families and businesses across the country.
A key feature of the launch will be the introduction of the C-Suite Challenge, an entrepreneurship competition that will support early-stage businesses through mentorship, compliance guidance, and direct access to experienced business leaders. The competition also aligns with Government’s broader goal of fostering innovation and creating greater economic opportunities for Barbadians.
WeBiz Bajan is expected to play a significant role in supporting Barbados’ national development agenda, by creating greater economic opportunity and empowering citizens with the knowledge and resources needed to achieve long-term financial and business success. (PR/GIS)
