Pearly App To Enhance Public Service Delivery & Citizen Engagement

Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley, will officially launch the Pearly App tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Ilaro Court marking another significant step in Barbados’ ongoing digital transformation journey.

Following more than a year of consultation, development and testing, the Pearly App has been designed as a modern digital tool intended to revolutionise how Government interacts with citizens, as well as how public officers engage across ministries, departments and State agencies.

The application enables citizens to report issues such as potholes, water shortages, waste disposal concerns and other public service matters directly from their mobile devices. Reports may include photographs, videos, descriptions and precise location data, allowing concerns to be routed efficiently to the relevant Government departments for response and action. The platform also supports improved communication, accountability and service tracking across the public sector.

Developed by local company Touchstar Group of Companies Limited, Pearly forms part of Barbados’ wider push towards smarter and more responsive public service delivery. The app is already available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store and includes features such as emergency reporting and issue tracking.

Ahead of the official launch, and in the weeks immediately following, every arm of Government, including ministries, departments and state agencies, will receive notices outlining the onboarding process and guidance for the initial start-up phase.

Public officers are being encouraged to fully cooperate with all onboarding instructions and implementation directives to ensure the effective and seamless rollout of the platform across the Public Service.

The Ministry of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology (MIST), together with relevant Government stakeholders, will continue to provide support and updates throughout the implementation process.

The launch of Pearly aligns with Government’s broader commitment to strengthening digital governance, improving public sector effiiciency and enhancing citizen engagement through technology-driven solutions. (PR/GIS)
