Students Begin Study At Hope Agricultural Training Institute

The first cohort of students entered the campus of the new Hope Agricultural Training Institute in St Lucy, today.

Nineteen students, who have enrolled in the Aquaponics Course in the Farm and Fishing Initiative, will now undertake 10 weeks of study. This course will be held on Mondays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A second course in Apiculture will commence on Thursday, May 21, and last for 10 weeks. It will be held on Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Registration is still open and interested individuals may visit https://bgti.bcc.edu.bb, for details.

This education initiative is designed to enhance agriculture’s contribution to GDP, by promoting import substitution and creating new job opportunities. The Hope Agricultural Training Institute is set to become a central hub for modern agricultural education in Barbados. (PR/GIS)
