Some 27 of 33 individuals yesterday received the Gold Award of Achievement under the Barbados National Honours and Decorations 2025, at State House, from President of Barbados, His Excellency Lt. Col. The Most Hon. Jeffrey Bostic.
The awardees were honoured for their exceptional contribution to the successful implementation of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Action Plan, which resulted in Barbados’ removal from the FATF Grey List and the European Union Black List.
Their dedicated and urgent technical work also ensured Barbados’ continued compliance with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development standards, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the island’s international business and financial services sector and protecting the country’s access to critical international financing and investment opportunities.
Receiving their awards were President of the Senate, the Most Honourable Reginald Farley; former Attorney General Dale Marshall; Annie Aymes; Dr. The Hon. Madam Justice Corlita Babb-Schaefer; Casey Boyce; Alicia Brewster; Paula Cain; Jennifer Clarke-Murrell; Olivia Davis; Crystal Ellis; Annalee Gale; Cheryl Greenidge; Trevor Griffith; Kevin Hunte; Dacia Jones; Rosina Knight; Ishuah Moore; Amelia Moore-Clarke; Glenroy Nowell; Estherline O’Neal; Maleka Prescod; Tamiesha Rochester; Shari Squires; Kirk Taitt; Nicole Thompson; Sonia Thompson and Sheena Walcott.
Present at the ceremony were Acting Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw; Attorney General and Senior Minister Coordinating Governance Policy, Wilfred Abrahams and other senior government officials.
Those individuals unable to attend the ceremony and collect their awards were Senator Lisa Cummins; Mechelle Elie; Amanda Osolo; Cyralene Benskin-Murray; Rachel Howell; and Kevin Mayers. (PR/GIS)
