Dr Shirley Jhagroo, Chair of the Breast Screening Programme said its not just a walk, it is a movement, a call to action, raising awareness about breast cancer, its impact on individuals and families stating that early detection plays a significant role in saving lives.

The date for this year’s walk is Sunday October 5th leaving CIBC Warrens, towards Hinds Hill, turning right at Queens College, through Clermont to Inchcape Barbados ending at Massy Car Park in Warrens. There will be a change of colour to the T- shirts for this year they will bear the slogan ‘Breast cancer doesn’t choose’.

Kemar Polius, Country Head of CIBC Caribbean expressed his pleasure to be part of this event as he will be able to witness for himself the overwhelming support that he has only seen in photographs and videos.  He emphasised the need  to support the cause saying that no longer is breast cancer a concern only for older women but  younger women can be affected as well. He called on those present to push the women in their families to get checked.
