Health & Wellness Conference Kicks Off Today

Health and wellness professionals and service providers will be among those participating when the inaugural Health and Wellness Conference begins today Wednesday, June 17.

Hosted by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council under the theme ‘Health Education and Promotion: Developing a Workforce that Supports Society and Ageing’, the three-day conference will be held at the Hilton Barbados Resort, Needham’s Point, St. Michael, starting at 9:00 a.m.

According to the TVET Council, the conference is being held “in response to the pressing need to support our ageing workforce” and aims to provide continuous professional education to Barbados’ and the region’s health and wellness workforce.

Key experts are slated to deliver insightful information in areas including stress and health, home-based care, working with an ageing society and technology access solutions.

Additionally, the conference will feature a free Health and Wellness Open Day on Saturday, June 20, at the National Botanical Gardens, Waterford, St. Michael, from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. (PR/GIS)
